Fertilizer can meet the rapid nutrient demand of crops, promote crop yield increase. Long term excessive application of fertilizer can also easily lead to soil compaction and secondary salinization in protected soil. To achieve green development in agriculture, it is necessary to change the "taste" of the land and replace some chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers. Scientific and rational use of organic fertilizers is of great significance for protecting the quality of arable land, promoting green development in agriculture, and achieving rural revitalization.



Where is the fragrance of organic fertilizers?



Organic fertilizer refers to carbon containing organic materials that are mainly derived from plants and/or animals and have been fermented and decomposed. Its function is to improve soil fertility, provide plant nutrition, and enhance crop quality.







1. Improve soil and enhance the quality of cultivated land



Organic fertilizers can increase the organic matter content in soil, improve soil water retention, fertilizer retention, and air permeability, as well as regulate soil temperature. They can also enhance soil activity and biological reproduction and transformation ability, thereby improving soil absorption, buffering, and stress resistance.



2. Increase crop yield and improve the quality of agricultural products



Organic fertilizers are nutritionally comprehensive, containing a large amount of nutrients, trace elements, sugars, and fats required by plants. The use of organic fertilizers can improve the quality indicators of fruit such as moisture, sugar, acid, pectin, pigments, and aroma. In addition, most of the nutrients in organic fertilizers are in organic form and can be absorbed by crops after being decomposed and converted into inorganic form by microorganisms. Scientific application of organic fertilizers requires the rational selection of fertilizer types, amounts, and application methods based on soil, crop, and environmental conditions, in order to achieve efficient and environmentally friendly fertilization goals and promote green agricultural development.



1. Develop the correct fertilization plan



Select suitable organic fertilizers based on crop needs and soil conditions. Different types of organic fertilizers have significant differences in organic matter and nutrient content, as well as nutrient mineralization release rates. Organic fertilizers mainly processed from straw have high organic matter content, low nutrient content, and slow nutrient release, making them suitable for soil improvement; Organic fertilizers derived from livestock and poultry manure have low organic matter content and high nutrient content, making them suitable for supplying nutrients; Determine the type and amount of organic fertilizer based on the fertilizer requirements of crops and soil fertility, avoiding excessive or insufficient application. Excessive amounts may lead to nutrient loss and environmental pollution, while insufficient amounts can affect crop growth.



2. Choose a reasonable fertilization method



Choose a reasonable fertilization method based on the type of crop and the needs of different growth stages, including the timing and method of fertilization. Base fertilizer is generally applied before sowing or transplanting, while topdressing is supplemented in a timely manner according to the growth stage of the crop. Fertilization methods can include spreading, trenching, and hole application, combined with soil tillage to ensure even distribution of fertilizers.







3. Combination application of organic fertilizer and chemical fertilizer



Reasonably mix the proportion of organic fertilizer and chemical fertilizer according to crop demand and soil conditions. Although organic fertilizer has a relatively complete content of nutrients, its content is low and it decomposes slowly in the soil. When applied alone, it often cannot meet the high demand for nutrients during rapid crop production, which affects crop yield and quality. Therefore, when applying organic fertilizers, chemical fertilizers can be added as required, and various foliar fertilizers can be applied during crop growth. The combination of organic fertilizer and chemical fertilizer can complement each others strengths and weaknesses, and leverage their respective advantages.



4. Ensure full maturity before application



Ensure that organic fertilizers are fully fermented before application. During fermentation treatment, the composting temperature needs to reach 60 ℃ to 70 ℃ and be maintained at this temperature for more than 20 days in order to achieve good fertilizer efficiency and kill harmful organisms. At the same time, it should be noted that decomposed organic fertilizers should not be mixed with alkaline fertilizers. If mixed with alkaline fertilizers, it will cause ammonia volatilization, reduce the nutrient content of organic fertilizers, and lead to nutrient imbalance.
