How to ferment animal manure into organic fertilizer
Release time:2026-08-14 Views:19 Sources:Tai an Hongxin Environmental Protection Sales Co., Ltd

Traditional farmyard manure is made by fermenting manure and straw compost. However, due to the long fermentation cycle, it often takes several months to accumulate, and fertilizers are slower than chemical fertilizers. So it caused excessive use of fertilizers, leading to soil compaction and salinization. However, organic fertilizers (i.e. fully decomposed farmyard manure) can effectively improve soil structure and increase soil organic matter, so the fertilizer efficiency utilization and fermentation production cycle of organic fertilizers have always been a problem.

With the development of technology, some strains of bacteria that can promote the fermentation process have been developed and can also achieve deodorizing effects. Some manufacturers who sell fermentation strains will tell us that their strains mature quickly, but in reality, they are a bit exaggerated. The organic fertilizer equipment manufacturer told us that fermentation is mainly divided into two stages:

1. High temperature stage:

Add bacterial strains, deodorize, break down bacterial cells, kill pathogens, insect eggs, weed seeds, etc. in feces and straw; Increase the starting temperature of fermentation, which can be raised to above 55 ℃ within 48 hours; The odor gradually disappeared, and diseases, pests, weeds, seeds, etc. died one after another. A few days later, white mycelium appeared and covered the surface.

It should be noted that:

The entire fermentation belongs to aerobic fermentation, but composting fermentation mainly relies on heating up the compost, so the oxygen in the compost will gradually decrease. At the same time, excessive temperature can cause the beneficial bacteria produced during fermentation to become inactive, resulting in slow or even stopped fermentation.

2. Mid low temperature stage:

After the initial maturation, the next step is decomposition: mainly breaking down the high molecular weight organic matter in feces and straw into small molecular substances. This is beneficial for soil absorption and utilization, and also helps to shorten the release time of fertilizer efficiency. This stage takes about 7-10 days, and the fermentation temperature is basically between 30-45 ℃, so it is also known as the medium low temperature stage.

It should be noted that:

This stage cannot be omitted, as the decomposition of small molecules in the later stage will prevent the recurrence of odor; At the same time, the effect of organic fertilizer application is slow, and the high molecular weight organic matter will increase the soils decomposition ability, which cannot timely alleviate serious problems such as soil compaction and salinization in areas.
