What are the operational faults of the disc granulator equipment?
Release time:2025-11-20 Views:11 Sources:Tai an Hongxin Environmental Protection Sales Co., Ltd

The equipment operation failures of the disc granulator are mainly concentrated in the four core components of the transmission system, disc body, spraying system, and regulating mechanism. The following is a comprehensive summary:

1、 Transmission system malfunction

Motor malfunction: Motor overheating, overload, inability to start, abnormal noise during operation, often due to excessive load, poor circuit contact, or worn motor bearings.

Belt issues: Belt slippage, breakage, or deviation are caused by aging of the belt, insufficient tension, and misalignment of the pulley.

Gear/reducer malfunction: gear wear, abnormal meshing noise, lubricating oil leakage, or reducer overheating, unstable output speed.

• Transmission shaft failure: The transmission shaft is bent, the bearings are stuck or make abnormal noises, which are often caused by material jamming and installation coaxiality deviation.

2、 Disk body malfunction

Abnormal rotation of the disc: The speed fluctuates rapidly, lags or even stops, which may be due to wear of transmission components, excessive accumulation of materials in the disc, or foreign objects stuck.

Wear and sticking of the disc surface: The disc surface liner (rubber/polyurethane material) falls off, wears too quickly, or the material adheres to the disc wall, causing poor cutting.

Excessive disc vibration: The whole machine shakes violently during operation, which is caused by loose anchor bolts, unbalanced discs, or deformation of the tilt adjustment mechanism.

• Edge deformation: The edge of the disk is deformed by material impact, which affects the normal discharge of particles and leads to accumulation and overflow.

3、 Spray system malfunction

• Nozzle malfunction: nozzle blockage, poor atomization effect (direct water flow), or nozzle leakage or detachment, often due to material fine powder blockage, unstable water pressure, or unstable installation.

• Liquid supply pipeline problems: Pipeline blockage, leakage, or insufficient water pump pressure, resulting in insufficient or uneven water spray.

4、 Malfunction of regulating and auxiliary mechanisms

• Tilt angle adjustment failure: unable to adjust the disc tilt angle, or unable to fix after adjustment, due to rusting of the adjusting screw, gear jamming, or damage to the locking device.

• Feeding mechanism malfunction: blockage of feeding tube, uneven feeding, or stuck feeding valve, affecting the stable entry of materials into the disc.

• Hanging plate failure: The hanging plate falls off or deforms, causing the material to stay in the tray for insufficient time, affecting the granulation effect.

Core principles of troubleshooting

1. Shut down the power supply before checking to avoid safety hazards.

2. Prioritize the inspection of vulnerable parts (belts, nozzles, liners, bearings), and then check the transmission and structural components.

3. Regular lubrication and maintenance (for motors, reducers, and screws) can significantly reduce the incidence of malfunctions.
